# Simple Habits That Extend Your Charging Cable's Lifespan

> Charging cables usually fail right where they meet the connector. Here are simple but effective habits that delay that kind of wear.

The weakest point on any charging cable is the strain-relief area right where it meets the connector; if a cable keeps bending at the same angle, the internal wires there fatigue and eventually snap. Unplugging by pulling the cable itself instead of the connector adds direct stress to exactly that spot.

Winding a cable into a tight, small loop can cause internal fractures over time, especially with metal or hard plastic connectors. A wider, looser figure-eight wrap distributes tension across the cable much more evenly.

Running a cable over sharp edges, like a desk corner or a drawer lid, or leaving something heavy on top of it, can cause internal damage that is not visible from the outside. This kind of damage usually shows up only once the cable stops working entirely.

For high-power cables (120W, 240W), a quality nylon-braided sleeve adds real protection against everyday wear, and this type of covering also tends to resist tangling better.

Charjett's UltraSpeed Turbo cables use a reinforced connector zone and a durable braided sleeve specifically to hold up better against these common everyday failure points.
